يعتبر موضوع ″الثورة في الشؤون العسكرية‟ من أكثر المواضيع نقاشا في حقل الدراسات الإستراتيجية و العسكرية في مرحلة ما بعد الحرب الباردة، و خاصة بعد حرب الخليج الثانية و التي تم فيها التطبيق الفعلي و الميداني للجانب التقني و التكنولوجي في ساحة المعركة من طرف الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية . و من ثمة أخذ هذا الموضوع الحيز الأكبر من النقاش و التحليل في مختلف الأوساط العسكرية و الأكاديمية، بحكم أن معظم الدول اليوم تسعى إلى تبني مضامين الثورة في الشؤون العسكرية.
